Jill Hart
I have been working in the medical field in the Treasure Valley since age 19. I was an Emergency Medical Technician until receiving an associate degree of nursing from Treasure Valley Community College in 1995.
I then worked as an emergency room nurse at Saint Alphonsus Regional Trauma Center in Boise until 2015. Throughout those years, I achieved certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boise State University.
In 2014, I completed a master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program from University of Cincinnati. After working a few years as a provider in the emergency department and urgent care settings, I began working in the behavioral health realm, and have done so for the past 7 years.
During my years as a nurse and nurse practitioner, I have developed a passion for “complete wellness”. I do not want to only treat illness; I want to prevent it. Currently, I am seeing patients for physical and mental health and wellness concerns.
The foundation of my practice incorporates the evidence-based, therapeutic lifestyle interventions of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine ~ whole-food, plant predominant diet, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and positive social connections ~ as primary treatment for chronic conditions.
Often times, medications are also necessary to accomplish health and wellness. My goal for patients is to, over time, discontinue as much medication as possible. We will work together to determine the path that is right for you.
